
About the Role
Oversee calves from maternity through returning to heifer development site - ensure protocols are followed, troubleshoot, and measure calf performance
Have ability to AI based on company parameters
Ability to vaccinate cows based on company protocol
Order, source, and track vaccines and chemical supplies
Input information and work proficiently with DC 305
Maintain communication about herd health and inventory with herd health manager
Handle cows and calves gently and patiently
Maintain communication about herd health and inventory with herd health manager
Communicate the needs of the farm with the vet and nutritionist
Travel to other site locations, as needed
Cover days off for other herd personnel, as needed
Requirements
Working knowledge of cow/calf behavior and health
General computer knowledge to include Microsoft programs
Observe general safety of people, animals, chemicals, and equipment
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
Willing to work nights and weekends
Maintain all appicable licenses to include valid U.S. driver's license
Willing to learn and desire to be a team player
Compensation
Entry-level salary begins at $40,000 annually. Candidates with relevant experience and qualifications may be offered a higher starting salary based on their skills and qualifications.
