Maintenance Technician

About the Role

To maintain a maintenance protocol and system for preventative maintenance along with ensuring all equipment and facilities are running efficiently.


This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings (to ensure maintenance team has schedule for weekend).  45+ hour weeks depending on seasonal needs, (harvest).  On call for breakdowns/emergencies as needed. 


Maintenance and repairs on worksites 

  • Keep up to date service logs 

  • Manage inventories for all parts 

  • Coordinate work between maintenance team members 

  • Standardize a preventative maintenance schedule for all sites 

  • Set maintenance priorities to ensure efficient use of time and materials 

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment 

  • Pivot, sprinkler maintenance  

  • Look for and improve inefficiencies on protocols and operational procedures 

  • Other tasks as assigned 

Requirements

  • Be punctual and manage time well

  • Maintain all applicable licenses needed to perform job

  • Have an extensive knowledge of equipment

  • Lift 50 pounds or more

  • Willing to work weekends depending upon need

  • Observe general safety of people, animals, and equipment

  • Willing to learn

  • Be a team player

  • Be trustworthy and respectful

  • Follow established policies and routines



Compensation

  • Starting pay is $20+/hour

  • Housing is provided, if available

  • Uniforms provided upon completion of 3 months

  • Company contribution to medical insurance; employee paid vision and dental plans

  • Eligible for 401K participation upon completion of 6 months 

  • Eligible for group life insurance upon completion of 12 months

  • Eligible for vacation upon completion of 12 months

24/7 Dairy Operation

  • Herd number is around 1200 cows

  • We produce more than137,000 pounds or 16,000 gallons of milk per day

  • We have yearly on-farm auditing of animal handling and management practices to ensure animal practices are current and top-notch

 

Nutrition

  • 2 different rations made up of a combination of corn or corn silage and different varieties of hay, plant-based proteins and vitamins and minerals

  • Each ration is specific to cow’s requirements for the amount of milk she is producing

  • Cows are fed once per day which will last them 24 hours

 

Cow Comfort

  • Cows live in free stall barns that are climate controlled to ensure maximum comfort

  • Cows lay on sand to keep them clean and help keep them cool or warm depending on time of year

  • Cows are free to roam about, eat, drink, sleep and chat with their other cow friends
